Abstract
resultaten behaald tijdens eerdere ringonderzoeken onderzochten vier
monsters.
A bacteriological collaborative study was organised in October 1998 for 21 laboratories participating in the Dutch national programme for control of Salmonella in the poultry sector by the Dutch National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for Salmonella. The main objective of this study was to test the capacity of these laboratories to detect Salmonella in the presence of competitive micro-organisms. Reference capsules containing sublethally injured Salmonella typhimurium had to be tested for the presence of Salmonella with and without the addition of chicken faeces. The laboratories were allowed to use the method they usually apply to detect Salmonella in chicken faeces. As a result of previous collaborative studies four laboratories had to test 50 capsules and 17 laboratories had to test 15 capsules. Two of the four laboratories testing 50 capsules isolated Salmonella from all positive samples. Sixteen of the 17 laboratories testing 15 capsules identified all samples containing Salmonella as being positive.
