A design is drafted for a document containing core information on the health status of the Dutch population. Health is taken in its broad sense. Data will be included on time trends, if possible from 1950, and on the major determinants of health. Projections to future situations will be made. The project will be undertaken by RIVM, in close collaboration with many experts in other institutions in the Netherlands.<br>
