Abstract
Air pollution around the Airport Schiphol has been characterized by the concentration of organic compounds and mutagenicity. At a limited number of days the concentration of volatile organic compounds and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons as well as the mutagenic activity of particulate matter, tested according to Ames, have been determined. The found concentrations and mutagenic activity are comparable with those usually measured in urban areas.<br>
