Abstract niet beschikbaar
In 1989 the NASA High Speed Research Program (HSRP) started, brought on by an increasing commercial interest in supersonic civil aircraft. In the HSRP framework research on the effects of supersonic exhaust on the global atmosphere is performed. In particular the possible decline of the stratospheric ozone layer induced by NOx from aircraft is studied in a subproject entitled "the Atmospheric Effects of Stratospheric Aircraft (AESA)". The authors of this report visited the second annual meeting of the HSRP/AESA project in Virginia Beach, USA (17 to 22 May 1992). The current report presents the state - of the - art on research on effects of stratospheric aircraft emissions as presented during different sessions.
