De Staat van Infectieziekten beoogt inzicht te geven in de infectieziektenproblematiek in Nederland. De inhoud is primair gericht op beleidsmakers bij het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport en bij het Centrum Infectieziektebestrijding (CIb) van het RIVM. Deze Staat van Infectieziekten geeft een overzicht van belangrijke ontwikkelingen en gebeurtenissen in de periode 2000-2005. Daarnaast werd speciale aandacht besteed aan de ziektelast en kosten van infectieziekten

The State of Infectious diseases intends to give insight in the infectious disease problems in the Netherlands. The content is primarily aimed at policymakers at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and at the Centre of Infectious Disease Control (CIb) of the RIVM. This State of Infectious diseases gives an overview of the important developments and incidents in the period 2000-2005. Furthermore, special attention has been given to the disease burden and costs of infectious diseases.
