Op verzoek van VROM heeft het RIVM, in samenwerking met de VROM-Inspectie, de VROM-Accountantsdienst, de Provincie Zuid-Holland en de Arbeidsinspectie, een onderzoek uitgevoerd naar de samenstelling van het chemisch afval in de C2-deponie van de Afvalverwerking Rijnmond Chemie C.V. Aanleiding tot het onderzoek was de mogelijke relatie tussen de blootstelling aan dit afval en de ziekte van een shovelmachinist die in de deponie werkzaam is geweest.

The investigation was carried out because of a possible relationship between the exposure to the waste and health problems of a worker. The result of the investigation is a list of chemicals which have been identified on the basis of the documentation on the waste and the estimated quantities at which they were present in the dump. The report also presents the uncertainties in the outcome of the investigations.
