In dit rapport is het raamwerk beschreven voor een landelijke structuur van Referentie Laboratoria Microbiologie. De maatstaven waaraan een Nederlands Referentie Laboratorium Microbiologie moet voldoen, zijn beschreven. Er wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen de status van Referentie Laboratorium, die aan (bijna) alle maatstaven voldoet, en die van Expertise Centrum, dat een deel van het takenpakket uitvoert. Bij een over het land verdeelde expertise wordt het consensus model gehanteerd. De in dit rapport beschreven referentiestructuur sluit aan bij die van het ECDC. De lijst van pathogenen waarvoor een referentiefunctie zal worden vastgesteld is gebaseerd op de melding-plichtige ziekten zoals die in de nieuwe Wet Publieke Gezondheid (WPG) zijn benoemd en op de pathogenen waarvoor het ECDC een referentiefunctie vraagt.
This report describes a generic model for Reference Laboratories Microbiology in the Netherlands. The criteria for Reference Labs Microbiology have been defined. A distinction is made between a Reference Lab and an Expert Centre, (almost) all reference functions being operational in the first, a limited number in the latter. For other pathogens the "consensus" mode is being proposed. The generic model described in this report, is in line with the policy of the ECDC. The list of pathogens for which a reference function is to be implemented, is based on the list of notifiable diseases under the new Public Health Law (Wet Publieke Gezondheid) in the Netherlands, in addition to the list of pathogens for which, according to the ECDC, a reference function is required.
