Abstract
In dit rapport worden jaargemiddelde depositie-waarden
voor de verzurende componenten in de periode 1980 tot en met 1995
gepresenteerd. In 1995 is de depositie van potentieel zuur sinds 1980 met
ca. 51% gedaald. De belangrijkste oorzaak van deze daling is de daling in
de SOx depositie in de tweede helft van de tachtiger jaren. De
tussendoelstelling voor 1994 van 4000 mol/ha.j ('Bestrijdingsplan
Verzuring') is gehaald. Regionaal wordt deze tussendoelstelling nog ruim
overschreden. Van de Nederlandse emissies dragen ruim 30% van SO2-emissies,
circa 15% van de NOx-emissies en circa 50% van de NH3-emissies bij aan de
depositie van potentieel zuur in Nederland. De export van totaal zuur door
Nederland is bijna vier keer zo groot als de import. In 1994 draagt de
depositie van NHx voor 68% bij aan de depositie van totaal stikstof. De
export van totaal stikstof is ruim zes keer zo groot als de import. De
bijdrage van de Nederlandse bronnen aan de depositie van potentieel zuur op
Nederland was in 1994 circa 53%. Voor NHx domineert de Nederlandse bijdrage
met 82%, terwijl ongeveer tweederde van de depositie van SOx en van NOy
afkomstig is van het buitenland. Naast het buitenland (47%) leveren de
landbouw (31%) en het verkeer (10%) een grote bijdrage. Regionaal verschilt
de bijdrage van het buitenland aan de depositie in de regio sterk. Het
areaal bos- en natuurgebied met overschrijding van de kritische depositie
voor potentieel zuur is in de periode van 1980-1994 afgenomen van 87% tot
81%. In dezelfde periode is het areaal met overschrijding van de kritische
stikstofdepositie voor effecten op het bodemvocht afgenomen van 90% tot 86%.
Het areaal met overschrijding van de kritische stikstofdepositie voor
effecten op de vegetatie is in die periode niet wezenlijk afgenomen. Er
heeft slechts een afname plaatsgevonden van het areaal met een
overschrijding van meer dan een factor 2 van 90% naar
83%.
This report presents yearly averaged deposition levels of the acidifying components in the Netherlands for the period 1980-1995. n 1995 the potential acid deposition had decreased 51% with respect to 1980. The main cause of this decrease is the decrease in the SOx deposition in the second half of the eighties. The target for 1994 from the 'Acidification Abatement Plan' of 4000 mol ha-1 a-1 was reached. However, this target was still exceeded on a regional scale. More than 30% of the Dutch SO2 emissions, about 15% of the Dutch NOx emissions and about 50% of the Dutch NH3 emissions contributed to the potential acid deposition in the Netherlands. The export of total acid emissions by the Netherlands was almost four times larger than the import. In 1994 the deposition of NHx contributed 68% to the deposition of total nitrogen. The export of total nitrogen emissions is more than six times larger than the import. The contribution of Dutch sources to the potential acid deposition in the Netherlands was about 53% in 1994. The Dutch NHx contribution dominates with 82%, while about twothirds of the deposition of SOx and NOy is caused by foreign sources. Besides the foreign countries (47%), Dutch agriculture (31%) and traffic (10%) are the largest contributors to the potential acid deposition. On a regional scale the 'foreign' contribution, i.e. from outside the region, to the deposition in the region highly differs. Exceedance of the critical load for acid deposition decreased from 87% to 81% in natural and forested areas in the period 1980-1994. In the same period the area where the critical nitrogen load for effects on the soil water was exceeded decreased from 90% to 86%. The area where the critical nitrogen load for effects on vegetation was exceeded did not change significantly. There was a decrease from 90% to 83% only of the area where the critical load was exceeded by more than a factor of 2.
