This report presents data of sorted components of domestic refuse in average weight percentages for the year 1989. The quality of domestic refuse depends on a variety of factors: - standards and habits of living. - degree of industrialization. - size of the region or community. Taking these factors into account specific districts have been selected in the following municipalities: Arnhem (one-family houses, apartment buildings). Amsterdam (old district). Amsterdam (new district). Overasselt (situated in a rural area in the vicinity of the city of Nijmegen). These districts can be regarded as representative for specific communities.
