Abstract
The Health Council of the Netherlands advised in autumn 2023 to offer vaccination (or re-vaccination) against COVID-19 to people aged 60 years and older; adults in medical risk groups who are offered the seasonal flu vaccine every year; pregnant people, adults and children from medical high-risk groups (including people who do not have a fully functional immune system); and care workers who have direct contact with patients. The transition from a pandemic to endemic phase, as well as logistical changes in the vaccination appointment system (from opt-in, i.e. each person making an appointment themselves, to opt-out, i.e. appointment already scheduled), warranted behavioural research on motivational and contextual factors that are relevant to the various target groups in accepting the vaccination against COVID-19. 24 July 2023, RIVM Behavioural Unit
