De beta-stof meetmethode. Vergelijking van een vijftal monitorenTranslated Title
The beta-dust measuring method in comparison to a set of five monitorsPubliekssamenvatting
Abstract niet beschikbaarAn automated dust measuring method is needed for implementation in the National Air Quality Network. The beta-attenuation method is described and the results of an extensive investigation of 5 Beta-dust monitors of different makes are reported. The Beta-dust monitors were tested in the laboratory to quantify lower detection limit and sensitivity to temperature, relative humidity and SO2 concentrations. In a field test, the relationship radiometry - gravimetry was investigated. The conclusion can be drawn that the FAG FH 62 I-N fulfils the required performance characteristics. The 1-hour average concentration can be determined with a standard deviation of 10 mug/m3. The 24-hour average concentration has a standard deviation of 2 mug/m3. For the FAG-instrument, no significant sensitivity to temperature, relative humidity and SO2 concentrations could be determined. The radiometric measurement corresponds to the gravimetric measurement within 10% for the location Bilthoven. It is recommended to check this relationship after implementation in the Network for every measuring site by setting up a quality assurance programme.
