An investigation has been conducted to automate the quality control on analytical data of the Segmented Flow Analysers (SFA) and to establish the data transport between the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and SFA completely electronically. Applying the developed computer programmes quality control on large numbers of samples is consistent and unequivocal. The electronic data transport prevents transcription errors. The application programmes have been validated.
