dc.description.abstractA round robin test was carried out to obtain more information about the variability of the DIN/AFNOR test (one stage leaching test) and the proposed CEN leaching test (two stage serial leaching test) and to obtain information on the comparability of both tests. Various countries contributed to the round robin test. For an estimation of the possible concentration of elements in the drainage water from a landfill and the emission of elements into the soil, information at a liquid to soil ratio (L/S) of 2 l/kg (proposed CEN leaching test) is of great importance for a correct judgement of waste material to be landfilled.
