A Time Dependent Zonally Averaged Energy Balance Model to be Incorporated into Image (Integrated Model to Assess the Greenhouse Effect)Translated Title
Een tijdsafhankelijke zonale gemiddelde energie balans model gekoppeld aan IMAGE (Geintegreerd model om het broeikasgas te schattenPubliekssamenvatting
Abstract niet beschikbaarIn this report we lay the scientific and numerical basis for a two- dimensional Energy Balance Model (EBM) to be integrated into the climate module of IMAGE (the Integrated Model to Assess the Greenhouse Effect) developed at RIVM. This EBM will calculate regional projections of surface temperature, resolved with respect to latitude and height based on emission scenarios. Although our EBM-model is still simple - no distinction is yet made between land, atmosphere and ocean and, also, a deep ocean is not corporated - its implementation is an important step in the modeling hierarchy, which leads to a regionalized climate module within IMAGE. This module can be used as a tool for integrating IMAGE with environmental impact models, which than can run in a time-dependent mode.
