dc.description.abstractThis report describes a method to determine technological solutions for major environmental problems in industrial branches. The method has been developed to gain information for several goals: programs on technological research and development, technological supplements on "SPIN"-documents (descriptions of industrial branches) and environmental surveys. After selection of the major environmental problems, technological solutions are generated. By means of environmental criteria technological solutions with high potential are selected. For the selected technological solutions, environmental aspects, the technological and economic bottle-necks and international developments are worked out in more detail. The method was tested on the Printing Industry and the Pharmaceutical Industry to modify the method and to work it out in more detail.<br>
