    Translated Title
Anion chromatografic analysis with an on-line eluens generator
    Publiekssamenvatting
An automated sensitive and selective ion chromatographic method was developed and described for the simultaneous determinations of minor and major analytes in water. The study resulted in a method for the simultaneous determinations of fluoride, chloride, nitrite, nitrate, sulphate, bromide and sulphite in water samples. The detection limit appears to be better than 5 4mol/l for the anions. The precision for chloride, nitrate and sulphate on the level of 0.1 mmol/l is better than 5% and the resolution between the anions is better than 1.6. High sensitivity was achieved using an on-line eluent generator for the creation of a gradient mobile phase. The system is millennium proof, robust and suitable for routine analysis. The microbore method with gradient elution reduces the eluent, helium and regenerant consumptions to a minimum. Also the shift of the retention times, caused by high anion concentrations, is minimised. Application of the method was tested for drinking water, rain water, groundwater and surface water. The analysis time of the anions is less than 25 min. The operational parameters for the method are described in a useful format.
