Ontwerp en bouw van EUREM: de Europese Emissie Module in het RIM+Translated Title
Design and implementation of EUREM: the European emission module of RIM+Publiekssamenvatting
With EUREM reported country- and region-emissions are transformed to emission-maps and files for each economical sector, various scenarios and years. Output can be generated on countries, on regions, on grid (5*5 km or 1*0.5 degree) or based on individual pointsources. The results are used in dispersion models for air quality. EUREM is part of an integral set of databases and applications called RIM+, a Dutch acronym for Environmental Information and Planning Model, which contains a national, European and mondial database. For the implementation the following tools were used: CA-OpenIngres (a relational database management system), CA-OpenROAD (a graphical development tool) and ARC/Info for geographical transformations and the presentations of maps. The EUREM-program is available on the PCs (MS-Windows) and Xterminals (OSF/Motif). The EUREM-database resides on a UNIX-computer. Since 1995 the results of EUREM are used in various RIVM-products.
