Results are presented of the monitoring-programme of 1995 in the Lheebroekerzand carried out in the framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE) International Co-operative Programme on Integrated Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Ecosystems (ICP/IM). The objectives of this paper are to compile and present the 1995 monitoring data which are obliged to be forwarded to the international database in Helsinki, Finland, by the end of September 1996 and to inform participating organizations and volunteers on the scope and progress of the monitoring programme on a national and international level. Additional non-obligatory data are also reported. In 1995, the biological part of the integrated monitoring programme consisted of a regular inventory of birds, leafminers and butterflies in the monitoring area, as well as inventories of the aquatic macrofauna present in the moorland pool Kliplo and observations on the performance of pine trees. The chemical-physical part included meteorological variables like temperature, humidity, the amount of precipitation and irradiation, together with chemical analysis of air, precipitation, leaves, needles and pool water. Three years after the start of monitoring Lheebroekerzand it can be stated that a solid foundation has been laid for further monitoring in this unique area with chemical, biological and physical variables measured in concert.<br>

html.description.abstractResultaten van 1995 van het monitoringprogramma uitgevoerd in het Lheebroekerzand te Drenthe worden gepresenteerd. Het programma wordt uitgevoerd in het kader van de United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE) International Co-operative Programme on Integrated Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Ecosystems (ICP/IM). Het belangrijkste doel van dit rapport is om de gegevens van 1995, gevraagd voor de internationale database in Helsinki (Finland), te verzamelen en te presenteren en daarnaast ook additionele resultaten van onderzoek uitgevoerd in het Lheebroekerzand te publiceren. Tevens dient dit rapport om medewerkende organisaties en vrijwilliggers te informeren over de vooruitgang en ontwikkeling van het monitoringprogramma zowel nationaal als internationaal. In 1995 bestond het biologische gedeelte van het monitoringprogramma uit een regelmatige inventarisatie van vogels, bladmineerders en vlinders evenals inventarisaties van de macrofauna aanwezig in het ven Kliplo en observaties aan naaldbomen ter bepaling van de vitaliteit. Het chemisch-fysische deel van het programma bestond uit meteorologische variabelen zoals temperatuur, luchtvochtigheid, hoeveelheid neerslag en instraling samen met chemische analyses van lucht, neerslag, bladeren, naalden en venwater. Er kan nog geen interpretatie van de resultaten van deze variabelen plaatsvinden totdat meer gegevens over een langere periode beschikbaar komen. Drie jaar na de start van het monitoringprogramma in het Lheebroekerzand is er een duidelijke basis gelegd om dit programma met diverse variabelen gemeten in een en hetzelfde gebied te continueren.&lt;br&gt;
