Title
The Integrated Monitoring Area Lheebroekerzand-the Netherlands. Data of 1993
Translated Title
Het integraal meetpunt Lheebroekerzand-Nederland. Gegevens van 1993
Publiekssamenvatting
In this report the results of the monitoring-programme of 1993 in the Lheebroekerzand carried out in the framework of the International Co-operative Programme on Integrated Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Ecosystems (ICP/IM) are presented. For more background information of the ICP/IM project and the Dutch participitation, the RIVM report Development of the Integrated Monitoring Area - the Netherlands (Mathijssen-Spiekman et al., 1994, reportnr 673710001) can be used as a reference. The purpose of this report is to present all measured variables and all methods used in the different subprogrammes of the programme and to discuss the problems and possible recommendations concerning the continuation of the ICP/IM project in the Netherlands. The monitoring programme consists in 1993 of a regularly inventory of birds, leafminers and macrofauna of the moorland pool Kliplo ; meteorological variables like temperature, humidity and radiation ; chemical analysis of air, soil, precipitation, mosses, leaves, needles, pool water and groundwater ; observations of pine trees. Because of the short time period of one year it is very difficult to discuss and maybe impossible to interpret these data. More years of sampling are required to discuss the collected data. Nevertheless data will be described and compared wherever that is possible. The conclusions and recommendations made in June 1994 in the first report concerning the monitoring-area Development of the integrated monitoring area Lheebroekerzand - the Netherlands (Mathijssen-Spiekman et al., 1994) can be referred to. The obligatory monitoring-programmes described in the ICP/IM-manual, which are possible to perform in the Dutch area, are carried out with exception of the programmes Trunk epiphytes, Aerial green algae and Soil water chemistry. The development of the monitoring area is not yet completed, improvements of the monitoring-programme are still in progress.
