From October 2006 up to October 2007 a 'Baseline study on the prevalence of Salmonella in slaughter pigs' was carried out in all European Member States. A selection of the Salmonella isolates found by the National Reference Laboratories in each Member State was sent to the Community Reference Laboratory for Salmonella (RIVM, Bilthoven, the Netherlands) for quality assurance of the serotyping. This letter report summarises the results of the quality assurance.Sponsors
