Indicatoren voor het thema Verspilling ; rekenmethodiek

Abstract

De problematiek rond het gebruik van voorraden is in eerdere studies duidelijk geworden. Hierin is naar voren gekomen dat er uiteindelijk vooral wordt afgewenteld op energie en ruimte. Deze sleutelvoorraden worden in dit rapport verder uitgewerkt. Centraal in dit rapport staat de rekenmethodiek om tot indicatoren voor Verspilling te komen. Hierbij is een directe relatie gelegd met de consumptie van Nederlanders. Gedragsaspecten, maar ook efficiencyaspecten, spelen een belangrijke rol bij de ontwikkelingen in het gebruik van voorraden. In het energiegebruik is het vooral het directe gebruik dat een belangrijk deel van het totaal bepaalt. In het ruimtegebruik zijn vooral de voedselconsumptie (met name vlees en zuivelprodukten) en het houtgebruik de dominerende posten. Deze posten bieden dan ook de meeste aangrijpingspunten voor gedragsverandering. Naast energie en ruimte is er een indicator voor vis uitgewerkt. Vis is afzonderlijk opgenomen, omdat de schaarsteproblematiek hier nadrukkelijk een rol speelt en vooralsnog niet in een andere indicator kan worden meegenomen.

This report is a continuation of the report 'Indicators for the issue of Squandering: a first exploration' (RIVM report no. 772416003, in Dutch). From that and previous studies the issue about the use of resources has become clear. It shows that in the end transfer to energy and space occurs. These two key supplies are worked out in more detail. This study deals with the arithmetic method to create indicators for Squandering. In doing so a direct relation has been made with the consumption of the Dutch. Aspects of behaviour and of efficiency play their role in the development of the use of supplies. Direct use is the most important part of the total use of energy. For the use of space the consumption of food (namely meat and dairy products) and the use of wood are dominating items. Hence these items offer most pretexts for change of behaviour. Besides energy and space an indicator for fish has been worked out. Fish has been introduced separately, because the issue of scarcity shows explicitely and can not be incorporated in another indicator for the time being.
