Title
Operational Uncertainties in SimpleBox; operational uncertainty analysis of the air-water concentration ratio computed by SimpleBox for 11 volatile compounds
Translated Title
Eleven volatile compounds were studied for operational uncertainties (i.e. uncertainties in the input parameters) and their impact on the air-water concentration ratio (SBCRair-water). The parameters of which input uncertainties contribute significantly (more than 1%) to the output uncertainty were: Henry's law constant, temperature, surface water, mixing height of air, water depth, wind speed, water flows, half-lives in air and water, and partial mass transfer coefficients. Uncertainties in SBCRair-water were found to be smaller than previously assumed: the ratio between the 95th percentile and median ranged from 2 to 43 with a median of 3, whereas the previously adopted value was 10.
