    Title
Methodology for the calculation of emissions from product usage by consumers, construction and services
    Translated Title
Methode om emissies door productgebruik te berekenen
    Publiekssamenvatting
RIVM describes the updated methods with which the Netherlands' Emission Registration calculates which pollutants and which quantities of pollutants end up in the air due to the use of products. Examples of such products include solvents from cosmetics, air fresheners, aerosols, paints, and substances released when burning wood and setting off fireworks. This description is used to substantiate the reported emissions. The Netherlands publishes annual reports, prepared in accordance with the most recent scientific insights, on the emission of greenhouse gases, acidifying substances, and substances related to large-scale air-pollution. The Netherlands is obligated to do so under international treaties such as the Kyoto Protocol, the EU Emission ceilings (NEC Directive), and the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP). This report is intended for the international reviewers who validate the Dutch reports to the EU and UN.
