    Title
Effects of flavonoids on anti-carcinogenesis and immunosuppression
    Translated Title
Effecten van flavonoiden op anti-carcinogenese en immuunsuppressie
    Publiekssamenvatting
In this study flavonoid-rich diets and tea extracts were investigated. These diets were studied for their putative protective effect on UV induced skin tumors and tumors in the small intestine and colon. Moreover , the same diets were studied in UV induced immunosuppression. The results show that these diets and tea extracts did not consistently have anticarcinogenic properties, but that they gave protection against UV-induced immunosuppression in the skin in all experiments. The carcinogenic activity of tea on the small intestine and colon tumors, due to a mutation in the APC gene, will be further investigated.
