In dit rapport worden milieurisicogrenzen afgeleid voor
nonylfenol, octylfenol 1+2 ethoxylaat (OPEO1+2), octylfenol 3-8 ethoxylaat
(OPEO3-8), octylfenol >8 ethoxylaat (OPEO>8), nonylfenol 1+2 ethoxylaat
(NPEO1+2), nonylfenol 3-8 ethoxylaat (NPEO3-8), nonylfenol >8 ethoxylaat
(NPEO>8), gecarboxyleerd octylfenol 1+2 ethoxylaat (OPE1+2C) en
gecarboxyleerd nonylfenol 1+2 ethoxylaat (OPE1+2C). De afgeleide
milieurisicogrenzen blijken beschermend te zijn voor endocriene effecten van
deze verbindingen, gebaseerd op de beschikbare in vivo gegevens. De
milieurisicogrenzen voor bodem en sediment werden bijna alle berekend uit de
waarden voor het aquatisch compartiment met behulp van evenwichtpartitie
omdat nauwelijks toxiciteitsgegevens voor bodem en sediment gevonden werden.
Recente metingen (1999, 2001) van nonylfenol en nonylfenolethoxylaten in
Nederland in rivieren, estuarien en sedimenten lieten in enkele gevallen een
lichte overschrijding van het MTR zien.
In this report Environmental Risk Limits (ERLs) are derived for nonylphenol, octylphenol 1+2 ethoxylate (OPEO1+2), octylphenol 3-8 ethoxylate (OPEO3-8), octylphenol >8 ethoxylate (OPEO>8), nonylphenol 1+2 ethoxylate (NPEO1+2), nonylphenol 3-8 ethoxylate (NPEO3-8), nonylphenol >8 ethoxylate (NPEO>8), carboxylated octylphenol 1+2 ethoxylate (OPE1+2C) and carboxylated nonylphenol 1+2 ethoxylate (NPE1+2C). The derived ERLs were shown to be protective for endocrine effects of these compounds, based on the in vivo effect studies available. Nearly all ERLs for soil and sediment were calculated from ERLs for the aquatic environment using equilibrium partitioning theory because soil and sediment toxicity data were virtually absent. Recent (1999, 2001) measurements of nonylphenol or nonylphenol ethoxylates in the Netherlands in rivers, estuaries and sediments showed slight exceedance of the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) in some cases.
